I joined over 20 female models and photographers for a Fairytale Photo Meetup pulled together by Sonnie Slagle @wonderlessphoto at Pumphouse Park in Richmond for a Sunday afternoon of HOT shooting. The canal and historic granite pumping station, built in 1881, was an inspired backdrop. The models showed up as glam elves, witches, fairies, and goddesses and we fought back 88 degree heat to get some truly inspired shots.
For 2-3 hours, you could see pairs of models and photographers working together around the property. I had the pleasure of working with @aspenonlife, @ivylightsey, @karengomez.model, and @ablacklady. All were so lovely, strong and captivating and I can't thank them enough for a fun afternoon together.
As a painter that uses photo images for references, it was great to see how other photographers worked with models. I felt a little overwhelmed between site selection, models and camera settings. There are one or two that shots that may find their way into a painting. But mostly this was just a day of fun, practice and connecting with other wonderfully creative female artists.
